O gato mais infeliz do mundo / The unhappiest cat in the world

Feline bad luck was not over yet. This time Pascoal (aka Fat Cat) is the unlucky one. After spending almost a day without urinating he was diagnosed FUS (Feline Urological Sindrome) and crystals were found in its urine. This means that for two whole months he will have to be on a special diet to dissolve the crystals. This obviously means he will have to be an indoor cat for two months. Locked inside, far away from all the food the neighbours always give him (turning him into Fat Cat) and only eating 70g of food per day Pascoal is surely the unhappiest cat in the world.

Poor Kitty! I hope he gets better! Good luck keeping him on his diet. He will be one unhappy cat.

Oh, poor Pascoal! You're lucky you caught him in time--that FUS can be fatal. We almost lost a cat about ten years ago when he collapsed in the bathroom and we flew to the vet. Happily, he's never had a problem since--he's the senior at 12 years old. We feed them all low-ash foods and have never had another problem with any of them.
Your poor wallet, though! Are veterinarians as expensive in Portugal as they are in Canada? A trip to a vet will be at least 100.00, more with drugs, etc. and that's just for a routine checkup diagnosis etc. But they're family...

How sad is a cat deprived of its freedom? And how do you tell him it's for his best?Kristy & Krusty wish him all the best in getting rid of the crystals and getting back to his usual self. They both know how hard it is to be locked in for days, nevermind months, as they nearly died from respiratory swelling caused by some weird insecticide applied by our neighbour in his garden and they both had to stay in for weeks.

he looks so pitiful! The 3 felines in our house wish him a speedy recovery.
