A chuva parou.../It stoped raining...

The rain has stoped for now, so I decided to take you for a walk. We are going back to Fonte da Benémola, so this is not unknown to you. Lots of plants have started growing again this spring and we have lots of flowers to see.

This time we are not staying here by the creek, we are going to go up the hill.

Its not an easy trail to follow, since it is very steep and rocky, but once we get up there the scenery is well worth it.

Pelo caminho vamos encontrando pequenas maravilhas.

And as we climb we find all these beautiful plants and flowers.

Alguém sabe o nome desta?

Does anyone know this plant's name?

Hum...queremos mesmo subir por ali?

Hum...do we really want to climb up there?

I'm glad we did, because I found these flowers I had never seen anywhere else. I think they might be some kind of Muscari.

Vamos continuar? Ainda há muita coisa para ver.

And right next to it...Lavandula viridis! This is a favorite of mine. Its the only lavender with yellowish flowers. I want to get one for my collection, but I've never seen it for sale. Shall we continue? There is still lots of things to see.

I guess we will end our walk now. The dogs are tired and thirsty and I really need to rest before doing all the way back.

Wow that looks beautiful. What a great walk and so many beautiful plants and blooms.

Fun walk! That yellow flower resembles St. John's Wort, or maybe an evening primrose, but I'm not sure.

What a wonderful walk. The scenery is beautiful. Worth hiking up the hill. I can tell the dogs had a great time. Thank you for taking us along.

Every time you take us on a walk I am amazed by the amount of wild flowers growing in your area. Wish we had that much wild flowers over here.

It's nice to see everything looking so fresh and green, that rain you had recently did a good job. I suppose everything will look much browner and drier in summer.

jardineira, desculpa roubar-te a expressão feia...QUE INVEJA !!!, rsrsr
As flores amarelinhas,(que perguntas o nome) parecem-me Ranunculus.

What a beautiful walk! On the hillside, those boxy walls of stone... do you know what they are? Remnants of a former garden, and old house foundation, maybe all of the above?

Whatever it is, it's a gorgeous juxtaposition of wild and orderly--I love that. If someone had actually designed it to be that way, just the meadows and the orderly stone walls, I would think it was genius.

What a great outing, I love that place. You are lucky to have so a beautiful place to walk and commune with nature.

I'm very tired from all that climbing, but what a wonderful outing. So many lovely flowers. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my rhubarb post. I do hope you find a plant to add to your garden. I did not meet rhubab until I was an adult, as it is not a plant my Cuban family was familiar with. I wonder if it can grow in your garden zone? It does need several months of cooler temperatures so that the root can rest. I did see it growing when I lived in France. --Curmudgeon

That was an amazing walk - the flowers were interesting to see. The dogs must have been happy to go for a long, lovely walk with you.
