Em flor / Garden Blogger's Bloom Day

Its the 15th again! I almost forgot about GBBD post! I'm sure you all know this but, just in case you don't, GBBD is hosted by May Dreams Gardens and on the 15th of every month you are suposed to show your blooms to all the other gardeners/bloggers.

Most of the plants I've shown you in previous months are still blooming, so I'm only going to show the new blooms.

Vamos começar pelas plantas envasadas. Esta é uma oxalis purpura

We'll start wit the poted plants. This is a purple oxalis

Pelargonium sp. I prefer the simple flowered cultivars, but these were a guiveaway from my neighbour. I couldn't say no..

Kalanchoe blossfeldiana

Diantus sp

Diantus sp

A rather disappointing Allium... I was told it was a tall species, and that is why I bought it. Well...it grew 20cm tall...

Allium sp. A wild species, it grows around here. I like them now, just before blooming. The flower itself is not so beautiful.

Tulbaghia tuberosa

Allium schoenoprasum

Iris germanica

This is a white iris (it has been all its live) I don't know why this flower has this blue stripe.

As iris azuis escuras estão quase a abrir.

The dark purple iris are almost blooming

Iris sp.

Astericus sp

Gazania rigens

Salvia microphylla

Cistus sp

Asphodelus fistulosus

Hebe sp.

Felicia amelloides /Plecthranthus neochilus

Euphorbia sp

Salvia officinalis purpurascens/Euphorbia wulfenii

There, I hope you like my contribution to this month GBBD.

We like it very much. Thanks for offering so many photos, the more the better when the flowers are are wonderful as yours are. I like the iris before as well as the allium in bud better than in bloom. Thanks for this.

That's funny about the white iris.

Gintoino, once again an excellent showing. I agree with you the Allium have a beautiful flower

LadyLuz disse...

A really beautiful mix there, Gintoino. I think the iris look gorgeous.

I do enjoy popping over the border to see what's happening your way. Thank you.

Yes, I like it very much. How strange that the white Iris suddenly has a blue stripe, starnge but also beautiful. I'll have to wait a few more weeks before my Irises will flower. Happy GBBD!

It is the season for irises here too! What beautiful color. I have been searching for a dark oxalis for several weeks--I'll give you a cutting of rhubarb for a cutting of your oxalis ;-) We've had striped gazanias in our yard too. They are so bright and cheerful. Also loved the last picture of the salvia. But very sad news about the blackbird babies. --C

Oh my... what great pictures! My two favorite photos are of the cherry-pink dianthus against the white rocks, and the kalanchoe flowers floating about the... aloe?

In the second picture, are the tall blue spikes in the back some kind of echium? Or... ?

Sorry for all of the questions. I guess because we garden in such different climates I keep thinking I *almost* know some of these flowers, but am a little unsure. And your pictures make me want to know them.

It seems that every day is bloom day in your garden Gintonio. I really like all of these blooms. I would love to have one that your neighbor gave you. My iris are still asleep.

Thanks for joining in for bloom day again. I see several blooms that I'll soon have in my own garden, like the irises.

I'm glad you remembered blooming day, Gintonio! You have a wonderful garden. I also like that odd iris - looks like its name should be 'Phantom of the Opera'. The words were a little blurry - is your Salvia the one called Hot Lips? That's one we see in Austin.

frances, yes, that allium was really disappointing.

chuck b., I wonder what happened there, and will it stay like that?

rusty, thank you for visiting once again.

ladyluz, we are gardening in the same climate, so its always nice to compare our gardens.

yolanda, iris are a favorite of mine. I can't wait to see yours

weed whackin' wenches, that's a deal! ;-)

blackswamp_girl, yes it is Echium candicans. And the aloe is A. aristata. You are welcome to ask as many questions as you like, as long as know how to, I will be glad to answer them

Lisa at greenbow, luckily my weather allows me to have blooms all year round, but the main seasons will be spring and autumn.

carol, thank you for hosting bloom day :-)

Annie in Austin, phantom of the opera seems like the right name. Salvia hot lips is a cultivar of salvia mycrophilla that we rarely see here. (I guess the cat stepped on the keyboard as I was writing the plants name)

I could loll about all day in your garden.

I love the photo of the second Pelargonium! Fantastic! I've decided I have to have that purple leafed Oxalis this year. It's calling to me. I think that Iris grew a stripe because it wanted to be noticed and stand out from the crowd.

I was wondering if you ever considered changing
the layout of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so
people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or
two images. Maybe you could space it out better?
