Finalmente choveu, e com a chuva (ainda que só 2 ou 3 dias) o jardim já parece outro. De um momento para o outro as plantas começaram a crescer e a florir.É como uma segunda Primavera.
The rain finally came, and with it, once again, all the plants started to grow and bloom. Its like a second Spring. I love the Autumn garden!
Algumas plantas que eu julgava mortas pelo calor do Verão voltaram a crescer, como é o caso da alcachofra, desaparecida desde Julho.
Some plants that I thought dead, killed by the high temperatures and low watering, are now starting to come back, like the artichoke that was gonne since July.
Outras não tiveram essa sorte, como é o caso das Felicia amelloides, deste canteiro. De qualquer modo já tinha resolvido refazer esta parte do jardim, por isso não há muito a lamentar. Quero experimentar uma combinação de malmequeres com rosmaninhos (Lavandula stoechas), acho que deve ficar bem.
Others were not as lucky, like Felicia amelloides in this border. I already had plans to change this border, so no big loss. I'm thinking about trying white daisys and spanish lavender (Lavandula stoechas), I think it probably will look nice.
E por falar em lavandas, parece que com a chuva todas as lavandas do jardim resolveram florir. O cheiro é fantástico, e os insectos não as largam. Parecem saber que dentro em pouco já poucas flores haverá para os alimentar.
Speaking of lavenders, all the lavenders in the garden are bursting with flowers ever since it rained. The smell is wonderful, and the insects are always buzzing around them. They seem to know that soon there will be no more flowers to feed them.

A coraleira está outra vez a produzir botões. Desta vez as flores não se vão queimar e vamos poder apreciar o espectáculo.
Cockspur coral tree is blooming again (well not yet, but going on that direction). Hoppefuly this time the blooms will not be scorched, and we will be able to enjoy the show.

Por falares em alcachofra... é daquela de comer, certo? (às vezes pode haver outras coisas com o mesmo nome)
Gostava muito de provar alcachofras frescas... aqui no Norte não consigo encontrar. São mesmo boas como dizem?

The second spring is lovely, isn't it! And it's wonderful when the artichokes start to grow again after disappearing in the summer. The first year we had them we thought they'd died in the summer, but when it rained in September the leaves grew SO quickly! Enjoy the flowers of your second spring.
