Boas noticias / Good news

dsc_0005-4

I'm guessing I did something really wrong with my butternut squash this year. The vines had plenty of fruit but some of them were too small. And as if that wasn't enough I found 4 of them cracked this morning. These won't store so I will have to turn them into jam. And that's the good news...

So sorry about your squash, sometimes even when we do everything right Mother Nature has different ideas. I've never heard of squash jam. Is it like fruit jam?

Lisa, yes jam! Its probably my favorite jam. We add some walnuts or peeled almonds in the end and usually eat it with cottage cheese. DELICIOUS!!

João, pois é :-)

Michelle, yes its like fruit jam. Its really good.

Ameixa, também eu :-)

Roses and stuff, yes, we can't see only the dark side of things. Jam is delicious

We have terrible luck with squash--winter nad summer. This year we've gotten 10 summer and 2 winter ones from 12 plants--that's only 1 per plant. But we are so very happy since this is the most we've ever gottten. Life is much better if you try to find the bright side! Enjoy your jam!

What a creative idea! I would have just frozen cubes or something.
