I think you'll see what I mean as they start to grow.

They will grow fine, but it's something to consider for next year.Patrickhttp://www.patnsteph.net/weblognoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5555149319250612342.post-78970169888059935522009-11-15T17:41:18.978+00:002009-11-15T17:41:18.978+00:00Ah yes! second only to untangling the Christmas li...Ah yes! second only to untangling the Christmas lights!

Trumbuctu - diário de uma hortahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10636872208413086071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5555149319250612342.post-84295766198544241222009-11-14T16:53:32.971+00:002009-11-14T16:53:32.971+00:00Yeah, I don't like this plastic stuff. It tangles, and after the peas are done for the year it will probably be too difficult to remove the plants from the plastic.

If you do get the plants off, you will ruin the plastic and if you decide it's too much work to take the plants off, you won't be able to put it in the compost because it'll be full of plastic! You'll probably have to bag everything up and throw it away.

I usually use fencing material of some sort. Plastic covered fence lasts longer, but it's a little expensive and of course not very environmentally friendly unless you use it for years and years.

If the variety of pea you have is 'climbing' (not all of them are), you can use bamboo poles/canes.Patrickhttp://www.patnsteph.net/weblognoreply@blogger.com
